You obviously want to protect your bicycle from theft as much as possible. Want to be protected if a theft occurs and be able to invoke the Bicycle Care Theft?

Then definitely bear the following in mind:

  • Always locked and anchored

Always lock your bicycle. And anchor your bicycle (both wheel and frame) to a bicycle rack or other permanent fixture in areas that are accessible to third parties. Anchoring is not necessary in a locked room that is not accessible to third parties, but you must demonstrate signs of a break-in (confirmed by an expert) and provide a police certificate of these signs.

  • Keep two keys

If a theft occurs, you always return two bicycle keys. That way, you can prove the bicycle was locked. Do you have only 1 key? Then the theft claim may be refused.

More information can be found in the Bicycle Care Theft Terms of Service.
