What is the best way to protect your lease bicycle from theft? And what do you do if you have a problem on the road?
We have a few tips ready to help you keep your bicycle safe and comply with the Bicycle Care Damage and Theft Terms and Conditions.
Always locked and anchored
Always lock your bicycle. And anchor your bicycle (both wheel and frame) to a bicycle rack or other permanent fixture in areas that are accessible to third parties. Anchoring is not necessary in a locked room that is not accessible to third parties, but you must demonstrate signs of a break-in (confirmed by an expert) and provide a police certificate of these signs.
Check the Bicycle Care Theft Terms and Conditions for more details.
Keep two keys
In the event of theft, you must always return two bicycle keys to o2o to prove that your bicycle was locked. Do you only have one key left? Then the reimbursement may be refused. In some cases, an expert appraisal is even organised. If you lose a key, follow the instructions in "What to do if I lose my bicycle key''.
Breakdown on the road? No problem!
Are you on the road and unexpectedly get stuck? Then it's handy to be able to count on breakdown assistance.
Check in myo2o Biker whether your breakdown assistance is activated. If so, then note down the unique number for o2o Bicycle Leasing and save it in your phone. Also take a look at all the information on breakdown assistance via your bikeID sticker.
Extra tip: always bring a spare inner tube in case you get a flat tyre.
Have a certificate drawn up in the event of an accident
Are you the victim of an accident with third parties? If so, always have a traffic accident certificate drawn up. This document ensures that you have the other party's information. Follow the step-by-step plan and check all the details in our Bicycle Care Damage Terms and Conditions. That way, you can be sure that your claim file is correctly drawn up.
