You choose a maintenance budget of between 50 and 900 euros per year. That is quite a large range, so how do you choose the maintenance budget that suits you best? We have several tips for you.
Maintenance budget based on your bicycle type
The amount of your maintenance budget depends on what bike you are leasing. You will need a larger or smaller maintenance budget depending on the type of bicycle.
If you choose a non-electric bicycle, then a budget between 50 and 175 euros per year will be enough. There are no expensive parts such as motors or batteries that result in high costs when faults occur.
If you choose an electric bicycle, o2o recommends a budget of 175 to 400 euros per year. The electric components sometimes need a little extra care and attention.
If you choose a speed pedelec, then a budget of more than 400 euros per year is a safe choice. These bruisers require a little extra care and maintenance.
Additional tips
Definitely take enough maintenance budget, as you will enjoy a tax benefit on this amount as well. That way, there won't be any nasty surprises.
Plus, you save the annual maintenance budget throughout the lease period. If you have not used up your maintenance budget by the end of the first (or subsequent) year of your lease contract, this remaining budget will be added to the following year's maintenance budget.
Still unsure about the right maintenance budget?
Definitely seek advice from your bicycle dealer, as they know your chosen bicycle best.
