Required documents

If you ride a speed pedelec on the road, you are required to have the following documents with you at all times.

  • Certificate of conformity (or a copy)

  • Registration certificate (or a copy)

You can download these from myo2o Biker under 'Your bicycle - Documents'. Check the following page ‘I've lost my speed pedelec number plate or documents’ for more info on what to do when a document goes missing. You'll also find more tips in this handy checklist.

Transporting children

Because you ride a speed pedelec much faster, specific rules apply to transporting children.

  • No children under the age of 3

It is not allowed to transport children under 3 years of age on a speed pedelec.

  • Children between the ages of 3 and 8

If you want to take children in this age group on the speed pedelec, you must install a suitable restraint system.

Safety measures

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend the following measures to increase your visibility and safety.

  • Wear a fluorescent jacket for extra visibility in traffic.

  • A rearview mirror on the left side of the handlebars is useful. It helps to keep your eyes on the road while keeping an eye on the traffic situation behind you.
